When Baek Jang-mi is roaming around his area, Hong Yong-Taek, with the help of his gang, catches her and beats her. When policeman Jo Dae-yeong sees this, he steps in. He wants to interview her in a café, but when he gets the coffee for both of them, she suddenly disappears. Later, during his investigation, Jo discovers that she is a thief known to the police. criticism

" [...]" Open City "is far from being bad, but it is not much more than elegantly packaged trash. Even the action comes unmotivated, the best example at the beginning when the cops beat up the occupants of a car and this only serves the purpose of providing some oomph. Later there are several opportunities for brawls, a little better integrated into the story, but still forced. The best keyword for the whole film: forced. The script crunches, the tricks are too obvious. The director tries too tense to wrap the audience around his finger. And fails. Nearly. Nonetheless, the supercooled film ran properly in [South] Korean cinemas and should therefore be expanded into a series. Somehow it fits: I could well imagine the material as a thriller soap opera.
