Open Season (Band)
Open Season is an urban- reggae - band from Bern ( Switzerland ), founded 2000th
history
In 2001 the band first appeared under its current name, and in 2000 some of the musicians joined forces under the name "Nestor". The group can now look back on over 500 concerts in Germany and abroad. The highlights were appearances on the main stages of the Swiss open air music festivals Gurten (festival opening 2003 and 2005, performance 2010), St. Gallen (2004) and Gampel (2005 and 2014).
The band released after a single ( Rocksteady Fever , 2002) and a studio album ( Each Day , 2003) a live album ( Open Season Live!, 2004), which was released in a limited edition. The second studio album, Hot And Fire, followed in 2005 . Two new songs by the band followed in March 2006 with the single Step By Step . The pre-single of the 2008 album Here We Go was released on November 2, 2007, I Lost My Phone . With Get Ready - Pure Vintage Scorchers (2009) , Open Season released another limited album that was based entirely on the Ska and Rocksteady of the 60s. After the release of the single Hey Darling , the band released the studio album Louder! In October 2010 . (produced in Dala Studios by Admiral James T. ), which spans an arc from old school to more modern elements. In 2013 and 2014 the two pre-release singles Beyond My Wildest Dreams (only as download) and All Eyes On You (also physical) were released. In November of the same year, the last album to date, Boombay, was released with a variety of influences such as: B. Reggae, Indian music, dancehall and dub.
For a long time, the band's musical orientation was essentially based on the early Jamaican Ska, Rocksteady and Reggae of the 1960s . With the album Hot And Fire , electronic music effects and scratching were also used. At least since Here We Go , the band's music has become more modern and stylistically more open. On the album Boombay , Indian elements flow into the band sound for the first time.
