Orhan Temur (* 1960 in Çankırı , Turkey ) is a Turkish singer, composer and Saz - virtuoso .

Works

After studying music in Turkey, he came to Germany in the 1980s. He took part in various cultural projects , events and shows across Europe . Temur produced music for films, documentaries, theater , music albums and radio plays. He also worked as a lecturer at adult education centers and cultural institutions. With his modern yet traditional style, he popularized the saz - traditional Turkish music - especially among the young Turks. He founded choirs, Saz- Bağlama ensembles and had numerous performances.

In the field of world music, he has worked in many music albums as a music producer , arranger and instrumental soloist.
In 1986 he played the very first Saz Concerto ( instrumental concert ) as a soloist in the Cologne Philharmonic and at WDR Cologne .

Temur had appearances on Alfred Biolek's talk show , Wetten dass in Linz and the Austrian TV show Nix is ​​Fix. He worked as an instrumental soloist on the music album Brothers by Rainhard Fendrich . Since 2012 he has been working on new developments in playing technique on the Saz.
