Orsatåg AB was an active Swedish railway company from its inception on June 30, 1998 until bankruptcy proceedings on May 22, 2003 . The company was based in Orsa . The company was founded in 1998 as the successor to Woxna Express AB .

history

The new company took over the Z67 649 diesel locomotive and a number of freight cars for transporting wood from the bankruptcy estate from Woxna Express . Orsatåg operated the freight traffic along the inland railway (mainly wood for sawmills and bulk goods). It served the branch lines leaving the Inlandsbahn as well as the lime transports from Kallholsfors . From 1998 to 2001 Orsatåg drove part of the freight trains on the Orsa – Bollnäs railway .

In 1999 the former T21 84 was rented by Ekefors Skrot for use in trains between Märbäck and Voxna . The locomotive came to Mora in July 1999 after being painted red / gray. During the transfer of the locomotive to Orsa, it suffered a gearbox damage on August 23, 1999. The locomotive was not handed over to Qvick Entreprenad , Ljungaverk until 2005 .

In 2000 the company bought a three-axle Czech diesel locomotive of the T334 series (T334.0 893). The locomotive was originally used for the Märbäck – Vallvik wooden trains, where train weights of up to 700 tons were to be carried. Problems soon arose, especially with low oil pressure. Although the engine was completely overhauled, the locomotive was parked around the turn of the year 2000/2001. Orsatåg withdrew from the sales contract on the grounds that the locomotive did not meet the guaranteed performance. The T43 223 , now owned by TGOJ, was provided as a replacement . After this locomotive had an accident, the TGOJ T43 242 followed .

Orsatåg AB carried its own trains until 2001, when Inlandsgods AB took over the transport. Orsatåg continued as a company until the operating license was revoked on October 10, 2002.

The Z67 649 was sold to Gävle Järnvägsteknik in 2002 as the Z67 002 .

falukuriren.se reported on May 26, 2003 that Orsatåg AB had filed for bankruptcy with the law enforcement agency because the company owed SEK 416,000 in taxation. Bankruptcy trustee Fredrik Sandberg in Mora is said to be attempting to end the pending litigation. Banverket claimed debts of SEK 600,000 as Bollnäsbanan was blocked due to a bridge that was destroyed due to lack of maintenance. Orsatåg's activities had only consisted of leasing vehicles to other railway companies.

According to the Swedish company directory allabolag , the bankruptcy proceedings are still ongoing.
