Woxna Express AB was a Swedish railway company that existed from 1994 to 1999 . The company was based in Ovanåker .

history

Aktiebolag, registered in January 1994 and founded on April 18, 1994, took over freight transport on the Bollnäs – Edsbyn line , and later performed the same tasks on the section between Vallvik and Söderhamn on the Stockholm – Sundsvall (Ostkustbanan) line.

At that time there was already tourist traffic with rail bicycles between Edsbyn and Furudal . After renovation work, Woxna Express was able to carry out regular freight traffic on the section of the former route from Orsa to Bollnäs in 1996 after a 24-year break. In 1994, the company acquired the Z67 649 (converted in 1981 from the Z63 385 built in 1957 ) from Statens Järnvägar for this purpose. After the start of operations, two Z66 and another Z67 were rented.

In 1999, Woxna Express AB was forcibly liquidated due to the lack of annual accounts , and the company declared bankruptcy a short time later . A new company - Orsatåg AB - was formed and took over the traffic service. The rental locomotives were returned to SJ, the Z67 649 first acquired in 1998 by Envitrak AB , Bollnäs and in 1999 by the successor company.

On February 23, 2006, a court hearing took place against the three main persons on the company's board of directors for fraudulent accounting and tax evasion. Two of them were convicted of fraudulent accounting and serious tax evasion. One of them was also found guilty of forging documents.
