Administrative division of the Krasnoyarsk Territory
The Krasnoyarsk region in the Siberian Federal District of the Russian Federation is divided into 44 Rajons and 17 urban districts (as of 2013).
Two of the Rajons, the Taimyrski (Dolgano-Nenezki) rajon (Taimyr Rajon of the Dolganen and Nenets ) and the Evenkijski rajon (Rajon of the Evenks ) were independent federation subjects of Russia until December 31, 2006 as Taimyr Autonomous County or Evenk Autonomous County (with several Rajons each, which were then merged) and have a special status to this day. Three of the city districts are closed administrative-territorial entities (SATO).
The Rajons are subdivided into a total of 36 municipalities (gorodskoje posselenije) and 484 rural municipalities (selskoje posselenije). In Severo-Jenisseiski rayon there are no communities; there all localities are directly subordinate to the Rajon. There are also municipal-free localities in the Boguchanski and Turuchanski Rajons . The administrative centers of seven of the Rajons ( Achinsk , Bogotol , Jenisseisk , Kansk , Minussinsk , Nasarowo , Scharypowo ) do not themselves belong to the respective Rajons, but form independent urban districts.
