Bolschaja Murta ( Russian Больша́я Мурта́ ) is an urban-type settlement in the Krasnoyarsk region in Russia with 7905 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

geography

The place is about 100 km as the crow flies north of the regional administrative center Krasnoyarsk on the Nizhnyaya Podjomnaja (Lower Podjomnaja), about 15 km west of its confluence with the Yenisei .

Bolshaya Murta is the administrative center of the Rajons Bolschemurtinski and seat and only town of the municipality (gorodskoje posselenije) Possjolok Bolshaya Murta.

history

The place was founded in 1725. Since April 4, 1924, Bolshaya Murta has been the administrative seat of a Rajon named after him. It has had urban-type settlement status since 1959.
