Severo-Jenisseiski ( Russian Се́веро-Енисе́йский ) is an urban-type settlement in the Krasnoyarsk region in Russia with 6950 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The place is about 500 km as the crow flies north of the regional administration center Krasnoyarsk in the area of the Yenisei Ridge (Jenisseiski krjasch), a low mountain range in the south-western part of the Central Siberian mountainous region . It is located on the upper reaches of the Besymjanka river, which flows over Ogne, Jenaschimo and Teja to Welmo , a left tributary of the Stony Tunguska .
Severo-Yenisisky is the administrative center of Severo-Yenisisky Rajon . The settlement is free of communes, as there is no corresponding administrative level (township / gorodskoje posselenije) in this district and all localities (in addition to Severo-Yenisiski, eleven more) are directly subordinate to the district administration.
history
The place arose as a settlement at the Avenirowski gold mine, which was founded in 1906 by Avenir Vlasov. After nationalization in 1919, the mine was named Sowetski rudnik (“ Soviet mine”) in 1922 ; the short form Sowrudnik became the official place name on December 16, 1922. On January 23, 1928, the place under the current name (about "North Yenisei Settlement") received the status of an urban-type settlement (the "South Yenisei Settlement" Yuzhno-Jenisseiski or today Yuzhno-Yenisseisk is about 200 km south ). On April 1, 1932 Severo-Jenisseiski became the administrative seat of a Rajons named after him.
