Kodinsk ( Russian Кодинск ) is a city in the Krasnoyarsk region ( Russia ) with 14,830 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The city is located on the Angara Plateau , about 730 km northeast of the regional capital Krasnoyarsk , 10 km from the left bank of the Angara .
The city of Kodinsk is the administrative center of Keshma Raion . City and Rajon are administered together.
Kodinsk has an airport.
history
The village of Kodinskaya Saimka was founded near today's city in 1930 for political exiles , named after the river Koda (also Kada , Evenk for rock ). In April 1977, in connection with the construction of the dam of the Boguchany reservoir on the Angara (about 10 km north of the city), the foundation stone was laid for a new settlement, which was given urban-type status as early as 1978 under the name Kodinski . In 1989, the city was given its current name.

The Keschma Raion Historical-Ethnographic Museum, opened in 1985, is located in Kodinsk .
