Günter Wichert

Günter Wichert (born May 20, 1935 in Czyborren, Johannisburg district , Masuria ) is a German historian and politician ( SPD ).

Life

After attending middle school and graduating from high school, Wichert studied history , philosophy and German at the Georg-August University of Göttingen and the Free University of Berlin . In Göttingen doctorate he 1969. Dr. phil.

He then worked as a research assistant for the social democratic parliamentary group in the Lower Saxony state parliament. 1960 joined the SPD. Wichert was elected to the German Bundestag in 1969, to which he was a member until his resignation on September 10, 1974. In parliament he represented the constituency of Göttingen . From 1974 to 1976 Wichert was State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture . From 1982 to 2000 he headed the State Center for Political Education North Rhine-Westphalia in Düsseldorf .
