Orsilochus (son of Diocles)
Orsilochos ( Greek Ὀρσίλοχος ), also Ortilochos (Greek Ὀρτίλοχος ) is a person of Greek mythology .
For Homer , Orsilochus is the son of Diocles , a descendant of the river god Alpheios and king of Pharai , and the twin brother of Crethon . Together with his brother he takes part in the Trojan War , where they are considered the bravest fighters among the Danes . The brothers of Aeneas are killed in battle, which moves Menelaus, who is mourning for them, to advance against the Trojans.
Pausanias reports that Antikleia , mother of Gorgasus and Nicomachus , is a sister of Orsilochus.
