Oruchuban Ebichu ( jap. おるちゅばんエビちゅ) is the title of a Japanese yonkoma - Manga by Risa Ito and one based on it anime - television series that is part of the Anime Ai no Awa Awa Hour ( アニメ愛のあわあわアワーis).

action

The main protagonist of the story is a hamster lady named Ebichu , who was bought by her "mistress" (incorrectly called "Goshujin-chama" by Ebichu) for a cheap 1000 yen plus 3% VAT (5% in the anime). The true name of Ebichus "Mistress" is not mentioned throughout the series, any more than those of her lover, the (of Ebichu simply as "no-good" kaisho-nashi as Kaisho-nachi pronounced) is called. Later in the series, the couple moves in together.

The common life of these three characters forms the basis of the plot, while sporadically appearing secondary characters and a characteristic satirical (and quite daring) humor make up the further appeal of the series.

  • Ebichu ( エ ビ ち ゅ )
    The protagonist of the series - a (cheaply bought) hamster lady , whose declared goal is to make her mistress happy. According to the series, Ebichu's brain weighs about three grams , which is why she rarely tends to rethink her well-intentioned actions.
    Ebichu does practically all the household chores for her mistress. Her big favorites are camembert and ice cream .
    Its name comes from the beer brand Yebisu Beer of the Sapporo Beer brewery , whereby the su at the end of the word Ebichu's pronunciation was changed to chu .
  • Ebichuman Ebichuman is the "metamorphosis" of Ebichu and she / he serves as the personal sexual saver on the show.
  • Mistress ( ご 主人 ち ゃ ま , Goshujin-chama , correct: " Goshujin-sama ")
    The actual name of Ebichu's owner, a 28-year-old, unmarried office lady (25 years in the cartoon), is neither in the manga nor in the Series mention. She has a passionate relationship with the “no good” in every respect. She wears contact lenses or glasses. She comes from Kyūshū , which is an occasional theme in the series.
  • Nonsense ( か い し ょ な ち , Kaisho-nachi , correct: " Kaishō-nashi ")

    A friend of Ebichu's owner. Her real name is Watanabe . She is a very talented cook and housewife and takes care of her mistress in case of illness . Her nickname Hanabatake (Eng. "Field of flowers") comes from Ebichu himself, which Miss Watanabe always sees surrounded by flowers. In the manga it is often suggested that she has relationships with her superiors on a regular basis.

Conception

Oruchuban is derived from the incorrectly pronounced Orusuban , which literally means "taking care of the household, taking care of the house". The title thus already indicates the main task of the hamster lady Ebichu .

A slot machine that can display three hiragana characters kept appearing in the episodes . The first two characters were always ma ( ま ) and n ( ん ) followed by a random letter and repeatedly seduced the viewer into imagining that the last character would be a ko ( こ ). When expressed together, this results in manko , which in Japanese slang describes the female genitalia . In order to meet the requirements of Japanese television, the word manko was faded out in the dialogues, which was not the case in the later DVD edition.

Manga

The manga, which was written and drawn by Risa Itō , appeared from 1990 to 2007, first in the weekly magazine Giga / Shan ( ギ ガ / Shan) published by Shufu to Seikatsusha , later in Futabasha's Action Pizazz , the last on September 19, 2007 Chapter of the series printed. In 1999, the anime television series Oruchuban Ebichu, comprising 24 short episodes, was animated by Group TAC on behalf of Gainax , which ran from August 1, 1999 to October 1, 1999 together with other series in a common format on the DirecTV Japan broadcaster (a subsidiary by DirecTV ). Kotono Misuishi was given the title role.

The anime is based on the Manga template by Risa Itō , which was shortened by Genki Yoshimura . Director Makoto Moriwaki was responsible for filming the plot. The artistic direction was taken over by Satoshi Miura , who worked with the character designer Sachiko Ōhashi and the color designer Eiko Sekine . The series music comes from Minami-Karasuyama Roku-chōme Production ( 南 鳥 山 六 丁目 プ ロ ダ ク シ ョ ン ).

The opening title of the series is Nanda Kana by Kotono Mitsuishi, and the closing song was Kumo kumo ga kenikon mata keyafu ( く も く も が け に こ ん ま た け や ふ ) by Minami Karasuyama Choume Production.
