Oscar Gerardo Fernández Guillén (born December 22, 1949 in San Rafael de Oreamuno , Costa Rica ) is Bishop of Puntarenas .

Life

Oscar Gerardo Fernández Guillén received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of San José de Costa Rica on July 8, 1977 .

On June 4, 2003, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Puntarenas. The Archbishop of San José de Costa Rica, Hugo Barrantes Ureña , donated him episcopal ordination on July 25 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the retired Archbishop of San José de Costa Rica, Román Arrieta Villalobos , and the Bishop of Limón , José Francisco Ulloa Rojas .
