The diocese of Puntarenas ( Latin Dioecesis Puntarenensis , Spanish diócesis de Puntarenas ) is in Costa Rica situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Puntarenas .
history
The diocese of Puntarenas was established on April 17, 1998 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Sacrorum Antistites from ceding territories of the dioceses of San Isidro de El General and Tilarán and subordinated to the Archdiocese of San José de Costa Rica as a suffragan diocese.
