Oscar Millard
Oscar Ernest Millard (born March 1, 1908 in London , England , † December 7, 1990 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American screenwriter and writer .
Life
Oscar Ernest Millard was already an established writer in England when he was hired as a scriptwriter by 20th Century Fox after World War II . With ... and heaven laughs, he made his debut as a screenwriter and three years later he was nominated for Best Original Story at the 1952 Academy Awards for his story about Froschmänner . Until the end of the 1960s he was regularly employed as an author for various film and television productions. He later traveled extensively in Europe, mainly Austria, and wrote travel articles for various newspapers and news magazines, including the Los Angeles Times and the New York Times .
Millard died on December 7, 1990, at his home in Pacific Palisades, aged 82 . He has been found to have natural causes of death after swimming his daily laps and eating breakfast. He left behind his second wife Brita, whom he had met in Austria, and his niece Anne Marie Krause.
