Oscar Nussio

Oscar Nussio (born July 31, 1899 in Ardez, GR; died May 15, 1976 in Greifensee ZH ) was a Swiss painter and wood sculptor .

Life

Oscar Nussio studied after his youth in the Graubünden mountain village of Ardez at the Brera Art Academy in Milan. He lived and worked in Sur En , a hamlet in the Lower Engadine , until 1936 . His younger brother Otmar was a well-known conductor and composer. After a long study trip to Amsterdam , Oscar Nussio lived for three years in Herrliberg and then in Greifensee, where he also died.

In addition to portraits and landscapes , his work also includes caricatures that have been published as illustrations for various articles.
