The Osun ( Ọṣun , Oshun ) is a river in southwestern Nigeria . It is named after Osun , who represents the river goddess in the religion of the Yoruba .

The Osun rises in the Yoruba Mountains in the state of Osun , flows through the city of Oshogbo , near which is the sacred grove of the goddess Osun , and is dammed in the Asejire reservoir . It then flows through the states of Osun and Lagos east of Epe into the Lekki lagoon .
