Oskar Maass

Oskar Maaß (born September 23, 1910 in Stettin ; † December 20, 1986 ) was a German civil engineer and sports official .

Career

Maaß studied architecture and graduated as a government architect . Together with Otto Heinz Brandi and Richard Stücklen , he founded BMS - Brandi-Maaß-Stücklen GmbH in 1956 , which carried out numerous planning contracts for federal buildings.

As a close confidante of Franz Kremer , the president of the soccer club 1. FC Köln , he was on the board of directors and honorary council from 1953 to 1965 and on the board of directors of the club from 1965 to 1968. In August 1968, he was elected president to succeed interim president Werner Müller . He remained in office until October 1973 and then moved back to the Board of Directors, of which he was a member until 1986.

He made a special contribution to the construction of the billy goat home. During his time as president, the old Müngersdorfer stadium was demolished and rebuilt. In the transition period, the club played its home games in the neighboring Müngersdorfer Radrennbahn .
