Oskar Mayer

Oskar Mayer (born January 12, 1941 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and AHS teacher. Mayer was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1987 to 1990 .

After primary school, Mayer attended a secondary school, which he graduated from in 1958 with the Matura. He then studied teaching for German and English at the University of Vienna and completed his studies with a doctorate. Between 1966 and 1987 he worked as a teacher at the high school of the College of the Society of Jesus in Kalksburg . Mayer was involved in school politics and in 1972 became a member of the Center for School Experiments and School Development at the Federal Ministry for Education, Art and Sport and chairman of the central committee at the Federal Ministry for Education, Art and Sport for federal teachers. Furthermore, from 1982 he was a member of the central board of the public service unionand represented the Austrian People's Party in the National Council between January 29, 1987 and November 4, 1990. He is a member of the Catholic student association K.Ö.HV Amelungia Vienna in the ÖCV .
