Osmium pentacarbonyl , Os (CO) 5 is a metal complex consisting of the pentavalent osmium and the carbonyl complex .
Extraction
Similar to ruthenium pentacarbonyl , osmium pentacarbonyl is also produced by triosmium dodecacarbonyl and carbon monoxide at 200 times atmospheric pressure and 280 ° C.
properties
As a solid, osmium (V) carbonyl is present as white-yellow crystals. The complex is also more robust than ruthenium pentacarbonyl and decomposes only starting from 80 ° C to tetraoxide .
