The Osterbach is a right tributary of the beavers in the Swabian district of Neu-Ulm . It flows in a south-north direction and is about 21.3 km long (with the Vorderen Huttenbach 26 km).
course
The Osterbach is created by the confluence of the Hinteren Huttenbach and the Vorderen Huttenbach north of Friesenhofen (Markt Buch ). It then flows north through a narrow valley and finally flows into the Biber northeast of Silheim or west of Kleinkissendorf (both community Bibertal ). On its way north, the Osterbach is mostly straightened and can only rarely develop. It is also used for damming fish ponds.

Spring streams
Vorderer Huttenbach The approximately 5.3 km long Vordere Huttenbach, flowing in a northerly direction, rises near the district road NU 5 (Matzenhofen - Kettershausen ) (coordinates 48/11/41 / N 10/13/42 / E) at 588 m above sea level . NN. Less than a kilometer before the confluence with the Hinterer Huttenbach, it flows through the town of Christertshofen, which belongs to the municipality of Buch . The difference in height between the source and the confluence is approx. 58 m.
Hinterer Huttenbach The creek, which is about 3.5 km long and flows in a north to north-westerly direction, rises in the municipality-free area of the Oberroggenburger Wald (coordinates 48/12/43 / N 10/14/54 / E) at 568 m above sea level. NN. About half the way from the source to the confluence with the Vorderen Hüttenbach, it flows past the hamlet of Waldreichenbach , which belongs to the municipality of Buch . The difference in height between the source and the confluence is approx. 38 m.
