The Osterfeld , through which the Süggelbach flows, is a newly created district and statistical district in the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Lünen . It belongs to the district 1283 Lünen and is 4.11 km 2 in size. 7,255 people currently live there (as of December 31, 2017).

The district, formerly also called "Süggel / Bauverein / Seelhuve", borders on Lippholthausen in the west, Brambauer in the southwest , Gahmen and Lünen-Süd in the south and Horstmar in the southeast . The latter had to hand over land to the statistical district of Osterfeld. To the north are the city center and the Beckinghausen district , separated by the Oberhausen (Osterfeld) - Hamm railway line for freight traffic. Oberhausen (Osterfeld) is not identical to Osterfeld (Lünen).
