Osterried is a south-eastern district of Marktoberdorf in the Swabian district of Ostallgäu (Bavaria).

The village lies on the open ground in the east of the municipality, near the border with the municipality of Stötten am Auerberg . A connecting road leads to federal highway 16, 400 m away .
history
Osterried is mentioned in the Salbuch of 1394 of the prince monastery Kempten with an estate. During the Reformation , the Augsburg bishopric acquired the area of the former municipality of Rieder, to which Osterried belonged until 1971, and incorporated it into the Oberdorf care office. In the local statistics around 1800 of the Augsburg bishopric, the place counted 5 Sölden and 9 houses.
St. Wendelin village chapel
The sacred building, built in 1732 with a two-year nave and a short semicircular apse, has an altar around 1900, stations of the cross from the late 18th century and a crucifix (18th century). In the late 19th century the building received a new tower.
