coat of arms
The province of Eastern Finland comprised the historical landscape of Savo and parts of Karelia . Therefore, the coat of arms of the former province is composed of their coat of arms. The blazon reads: The shield is split and shows two silver right arms in red at the front, breaking out of the edge of the shield , on the right with a gold-hilted sword swinging a gold- hilted sword and on the left a gold- hilted scimitar. A golden crown floats between the arms . In the back of the black half of the shield there is a golden bow with a silver string. The bow points to the top right and its golden arrow has a silver tip and fletching. A golden crown rests on the shield .
