The Ostropomycetidae are a subclass of sac fungi , some of which are lichens .
features
The Ostropomycetidae are partly lichens, the thallus is crust-shaped or thread-shaped. The photobionts belong to the genus Trentepohlia , Coccomyxa , Trebouxia or other chloroccal green algae.
The fruit bodies are sunk into the thallus, seated or stalked, have the form of apothecia or perithecia . Eight or fewer ascospores are formed per ascus . These are colorless, simple, transversely septate or muriform. The paraphyses are more or less branched. The Asci are unitunicate or bitunicate, but then functionally bitunicate. They usually do not have a tholus.
Systematics
The subclass Ostropomycetidae includes the following four orders:
Miadlikowska et al. have created the following cladogram . The species of the earlier order Gyalectales are therefore incorporated into the order Ostropales. The two families Arthrorhaphidaceae and Loxosporaceae, which Eriksson 2006 still included in the subclass Lecanoromycetidae , order Lecanorales .
