Oswald Kranz

Oswald Kranz (born November 5, 1953 in Eschen ) is a Liechtenstein politician ( VU ).

biography

Oswald Kranz was born in 1953 as the son of the farmer Albert Kranz and his wife Philomena (née Gstöhl). He has six siblings, including Günther Kranz , who later became a member of the state parliament . From 1966 to 1969 he attended secondary school in Eschen. He then did a commercial apprenticeship at Presta AG in Eschen from 1969 to 1972 . Later he went on to become an insurance salesman. From 1998, Kranz was head of the Liechtenstein national representation of Concordia Swiss Health and Accident Insurance, and from 2005 he was part of the management of the entire company. On July 1, 2014, he resigned from these two posts due to old age.

From 1984 to 1992 he was an auditor for the municipality of Eschen. From 1986 to 1992 he was Vice-Party President of the Patriotic Union. From 1989 to 2001, Kranz was a member of the Liechtenstein Parliament for his party . First elected in 1989, he was re- elected in the two state elections in February and October 1993 and in 1997 . As a member of the state parliament, he was a member of the business audit commission. In 1992 he replaced Otto Hasler as party president of the Fatherland Union. Kranz himself was replaced as party president by Heinz Frommelt in 2001 .

Kranz is married and has four children. For his services to the State of Liechtenstein, Prince Hans-Adam II awarded him the Commander's Cross of the Princely Liechtenstein Order of Merit on December 2, 2011 .
