Oswald von Krobshofer

Oswald Ritter von Krobshofer (born December 15, 1883 in Prague , † March 8, 1960 in Leipzig ) was a German painter, graphic artist, etcher and chess composer .

Life

From November 14, 1903, Oswald von Krobshofer was a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Carl von Marr , Peter Halm and Julius Exter . He was artistically active in Munich , Berlin , Naumburg , Leipzig and Miltitz near Leipzig. He was a member of the German Art Cooperative and the Metzner Association of Tetschen . He was represented in the Munich Secession from 1911 to 1914 with landscape and figure paintings . In 1913 he had an exhibition in the Vienna Secession , and in 1921 he was represented with etchings in the Dresden art exhibition and in the Munich Glass Palace .

Chess composition

Three and multi-moveers composed by Krobshofer, a study by him is also known. Occasionally he used the pseudonym Opificius .
