Oswalt von Nostitz

Oswalt von Nostitz (born April 4, 1908 in Dresden ; † August 12, 1997 in Munich ) was a German diplomat, writer and translator.

Life

Oswalt von Nostitz - son of Alfred von Nostitz-Wallwitz and Helene von Nostitz - studied law and passed the first state examination in 1931 and the second in 1936 . On January 1, 1932, he joined the NSDAP . From 1937 to 1945 he worked as a legation secretary for the Foreign Office . His uncle Benno von Nostitz-Wallwitz (1865–1955) adopted him in 1932 because of his own childlessness and made him the heir of his fortune, which included several manors in Sohland on the Spree .

1945 converted v. Nostitz on Catholicism . From 1958 to 1973 Oswalt von Nostitz worked in Brussels for the European Atomic Energy Community and for the European Commission .

He was chairman of the "Association of German Authors" from 1978 to 1983.
