Otis "Candy" Finch Jr. ( 1933 - July 13, 1982 in Seattle ) was an American jazz drummer.

Life

Otis Finch played in the 1960s in a trio and quartet with Shirley Scott and in Stanley Turrentine's band on his recordings for Blue Note , as well as with John Patton , Grant Green and Bobby Hutcherson , Billy Mitchell and trumpeter Dave Burns . With Turrentines formations there are recordings for 1962 and 1964 on the label Blue Note together with Blue Mitchell , Curtis Fuller , Herbie Hancock , the bassist Herbie Lewis and Les McCann . In 1967 he accompanied Dizzy Gillespie on his impulses! Album Swing Low, Sweet Cadillac and appeared in its “Reunion Big Band” in November 1968 at the Berlin Jazz Days . He was believed to be the son of saxophonist Otis Finch Sr. , who lived in Detroit and played with John Lee Hooker and the Boogie Ramblers.
