Otmar Becker

Otmar Becker (born February 27, 1955 ) is a former German soccer player .

Athletic career

Becker left his hometown club SV Schefflenz at the age of 18 to join SpVgg Neckarelz . With the club he rose in 1974 to the third-class 1st amateur league North Baden . When the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg was introduced in the summer of 1978, he missed the qualification with the club and went on to play one more season in the Baden Association League .

In the summer of 1979 Becker moved to Wormatia Worms in the 2nd Bundesliga , where he played nine second division games, mainly as a substitute, by the fall. In November of that year he returned to the amateur sector and joined the association league club SV Neckargerach . With this he rose at the end of the season in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg. There the team missed relegation, but rose again as a league champion in 1982 directly. At the side of ex-professionals such as Walter Plaggemeyer , Rudi Josef Berhausen , Reinhold Scherpp and Lothar Wardanjan , he took eighth place in the table with the promoted player in the 1982/83 season , before he returned to SV Schefflenz as a player- coach at the end of his career . There he played in the second team in the 1990s, before he temporarily held the position of coach at the club after retiring.
