Reinhold Scherpp

Reinhold Scherpp (born June 15, 1951 ) is a former German soccer player .

Athletic career

Scherpp comes from the youth department of Union Böckingen , for the football club he made his debut in the then third-class 1st Amateur League North Württemberg in the adult area. In the season 1969/70 he was with the team runner-up behind the 1st Göppinger SV and thus qualified for the German amateur championship in 1970 , in which they failed in the first round at BSC Brunsbüttel . In 1971 he followed his former teammates Horst Hägele and Martin Kübler to local rivals VfR Heilbronn , who competed in the second-rate Regionalliga Süd . Here he played two seasons, in which the team placed in the front midfield.

In 1973, Scherpp moved with Karl Alber to Eintracht Bad Kreuznach , which had been promoted to the Regionalliga Südwest . In the 1973/74 season the team was seventh in the table, but due to the introduction of the 2nd Bundesliga as the second highest division, it was relegated to the 1st Amateur League Southwest . With 130 goals scored this season, she was champion there in the 1974/75 season and after four victories against Eintracht Trier and ASC Dudweiler rose again directly in the promotion round. In the 2nd Bundesliga, however, she had no chance and rose seven points behind to a non-relegation place, Scherpp had scored three goals in 24 games of the season. After a season in the 1st amateur league, he returned to Baden in 1977, where he ran from then on for SV Neckargerach . In 1978 he qualified with the club under player-coach Harry Griesbeck , a former teammate in Heilbronn, for the newly created Oberliga Baden-Württemberg . In the following years, the team commuted between this division and the fourth division Baden Association , before he ended his career at the club in 1983.

Scherpp's main job was in the Heilbronn District Office.
