Otokar Kopecký (born April 29, 1850 in Chotěboř ; † October 30, 1917 in Hamburg ) was a German violinist .

The son of district judge Franz Kopecký zu Brandeis / Elbe (* 1917 in Prague, Carolinenthal) and Adalberta Ziduw was a student of Bennewitz. He was violinist , concertmaster in Brno , Salzburg , Vienna and second violinist in the Lüstner Quartet in Sondershausen . From 1878 to 1896 he was a soloist and concert master in Hamburg , and in 1889 he was music dance master. Kopecký worked as concertmaster of the Philharmonic Society in Hamburg, from 1881 he was second violinist in their quartet. For a time he was conductor of the Schäffer'schen Orchesterverein, and teacher at the von Bernuth'schen Conservatory and violin teacher of Crown Prince Adalbert of Prussia (1884-1948) and 2nd violinist of the string quartets Bargheer and Zajic. From 1883 to 1908 he was a quartet leader. From 1900 he was professor of music and chamber virtuoso. Kopecký wrote studies for violin. He was a member of the Altona Masonic Lodge Carl zum Felsen .
