Otto Betz (religious educator)

Otto (Wilhelm) Betz (born July 18, 1927 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a Catholic religious educator .

Betz studied philosophy and catholic theology , German and pedagogy in Frankfurt a. M. , Munich and Bonn . From 1960 to 1964 he was a research assistant at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 1963 he received his doctorate.

From 1964 to 1985 he was a lecturer or professor for general educational science and pedagogy at the University of Hamburg .

Since 1952 he has been married to the storyteller Felicitas Betz († 2014), with whom he also wrote several books on the subject of “Religious Early Education”. He lives in Passau, Bavaria .
