Otto Bott

Otto Bott (born May 18, 1919 in Rauenberg ; † February 6, 1994 in Heidelberg ) was a German engineer and entrepreneur .

Life

Otto Bott, son of the entrepreneur Emil Bott (1882–1968), studied mechanical engineering in Karlsruhe . During his studies he became a member of the Karlsruhe fraternity of Teutonia . In 1948 he joined his father's brick factory. This was founded in 1878 and merged in 1972 with the brickworks Josef-Edar KG from Brühl to form Bott-Eder GmbH. The company produced masonry and roof tiles in five plants . He was the managing partner of Ziegelwerke until 1988, after which he retired from day-to-day business and switched to the board of directors.

He was president for several years and from 1969 to 1981 board member of the Federal Association of the German Brick and Tile Industry .

Bott was committed to economic development and the improvement of the social structure in his hometown. For this reason he was made an honorary citizen in 1978. At the same time he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class.
