Otto Herman Max Brandenburg (born September 4, 1934 in Hejnsvig , Sydjylland , † March 1, 2007 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish actor and singer .

Live and act

Otto Brandenburg made a name for himself as a jazz and lieder singer in the 1950s, and from 1955 he belonged to the swing and rock 'n' roll band Four Jacks . Besides Denmark, he was also able to celebrate successes in Sweden and Germany. In 1960 he took part in the Danish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest with the song To Lys På Et Bord . In 1960 some records appeared in Germany under the artist name Ole Brandenburg.

In addition to his music career, Brandenburg also worked as an actor. In 1958 he made his debut in the movie Styrmand Karlsen . In 1961 he took part in the German music film “Schlagerparade”. Since the early 1970s, he pushed his film career. At first he appeared in B-films, sex clothes and even two pornographic films, including a classic of the genre, Justine and Juliette ( Justine och Juliette , S 1975). Since the end of the 1970s, he turned more and more into a character actor and his roles became increasingly demanding. In 1979 he was chosen for his role in the film Hør, var der ikke en som lo? Awarded the Danish Bodil Film Prize for Best Supporting Actor. He received a Bodil for best leading role in 1982 for the film Gummitarzan . A wider international audience saw Brandenburg in the 1990s as a nurse Hansen in the television series Hospital of the Spirits by director Lars von Trier .

On June 8, 1960, Otto Brandenburg married Ina Birthe Kildehus Jørgensen (1937-2011) in Lyngby's church. The couple had their daughter Stine and a son was stillborn. The marriage broke up in the mid-1960s. In the 1980s Brandenburg a. a. with the Italian actress Franca Maria De Monti. He spent his “retirement” with TV producer Hanne Mynster at his side in a row house in Buddinge ( Gladsaxe municipality ).
