Otto Gabriel Grubbe Dietrichson Falkenberg (born January 9, 1885 in Stjørdal , † July 21, 1977 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian sailor .

Otto Falkenberg, member of Kongelig Norsk Seilforening was in 1920 in Antwerp at the Olympic Games in the 10-meter class after the International Rule of 1919 Olympic champion . He was a crew member of the Mosk II , which participated as the only boat in its class. The Mosk II , whose crew also consisted of Arne Sejersted , Robert Giertsen , Willy Gilbert , Halfdan Schjøtt and Trygve Schjøtt as well as skipper Charles Arentz , achieved the goal of winning the gold medal in two races due to lack of competition.

Life

Falkenberg worked at a young age as a seaman on a ship of the Cunard Line , whose route led to New York City . Later he worked, among other things, in a trading house in Dunkirk , accountant for the Oslo bus company Schøyens Bilcentraler and real estate agent. In 1947, after the end of the German occupation of Norway, he was sentenced to three years of forced labor for collaboration, received fines and lost his broker license.
