Otto Götzinger

Otto Götzinger (born September 17, 1912 in Vienna ; † August 9, 1999 in Steyr ) was an Austrian painter and restorer .

Otto Götzinger was the son of Hans Götzinger . He completed his studies from 1930 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Carl Fahringer with a diploma as an academic painter. In the Wehrmacht he was used in the medical service. From 1949 he lived in Steyr. As a restorer, he restored frescoes , sgraffiti and historical paintings. As a painter, he initially created monumental frescoes. Around 1970 he switched to portrait painting and received commissions from celebrities from culture and politics. In 1979 he was appointed consultant for art maintenance for his work on public buildings.
