Otto Hübschen

Otto Hübschen (born  December 6, 1919 in Coesfeld , Westphalia province , †  June 18, 1997 ) was a German naval officer in the Navy , most recently in the rank of first lieutenant at sea .

Military career

Hübschen joined the Navy on October 1, 1938. He thus belonged to crew 38 . He finished his submarine training in March 1941 and then completed four patrols on U 402 as an officer on watch . Until December 1942, Hübschen served as a watch officer and commandant on the school boats U 7 , U 60 , U 121 and U 145 . On April 1, 1943 he was promoted to lieutenant at sea. Following the building instruction , he took over command of U 2501 on June 27, 1944 . At the end of 1944, Hübschen left the boat U 2501 to become commander of U 2542 .
