Otto II of Baden-Hachberg († 1418 ) was 1410-1415 the last Margrave of Hachberg and Lord of Höhingen .

Life

Otto was born the son of Hesso von Baden-Hachberg and Agnes von Geroldseck . The documents do not attest to marriage or children. After his brothers Heinrich and Hesso and his uncle, Johann died, Otto inherited the margraviate alone in 1410.

The margraviate was heavily in debt and since he had no offspring, Otto looked for a buyer for his land among his relatives. His brother-in-law Friedrich VIII von Leiningen-Dagsburg was himself constantly in debt and therefore left. His cousin Rudolf of the Sausenberg branch referred him to his distant cousin, Margrave Bernhard von Baden , who bought the Margraviate Hachberg on July 25, 1415 for 80,000 Rhenish guilders .

Despite the sale, Otto called himself Margrave von Hachberg until his death in 1418. The Höhingen Castle allowed Otto to use until death. With him the house of Baden-Hachberg died out.
