Otto Mayer (civil servant)

Otto Mayer (born November 17, 1890 in Strasbourg , † August 3, 1971 ) was a German ministerial official.

Career

Mayer was born on November 17, 1890 in Strasbourg and baptized as a Protestant. He was a citizen of Baden and Alsace-Lorraine. He attended the Protestant grammar school in Strasbourg and obtained his school leaving certificate on July 30, 1909. From November 1909 he studied law for two semesters at the University of Strasbourg , then went to the University of Munich for two semesters and returned to Strasbourg for another six semesters. On August 9, 1915, he was appointed trainee lawyer. With the work A legal comparison between giro and check transactions , he received his doctorate in 1916 at the high law and political science faculty of the Kaiser-Wilhelms-Universität Strasbourg under Hermann Rehm .

He entered the administration of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine . Later he worked in various offices in the state of Baden . After the formation of the state of Baden-Württemberg , he was transferred to the Baden-Württemberg State Ministry in 1952 , where he was the office director and head of the personnel department. In 1956 he retired.
