Otto Plantl (born August 17, 1865 in Urfahr , today a district of Linz , † September 22, 1943 in Salzburg ) was an Austrian homeland poet who wrote poems and humorous stories in the Salzburg dialect.

From 1895, Pflanzl worked as a pub and local poet for a Salzburg brewery. Among other things, he wrote the text of the Salzburg homeland song Mei Hoamat, mei Salzburg .

In 1938 he recited a poem for Adolf Hitler at a reception in which he referred to him as "mei liaba Führer". He was heavily criticized for this.

After the war, his poems were depoliticized and today they are part of “real customs”. He is buried in the Petersfriedhof in Salzburg (arcade crypt No. 41).

Otto-Pflanzl-Strasse is named after him in the Maxglan district of Salzburg .
