Otto Reimann (born March 22, 1871 in Würzburg , † June 21, 1956 in Bad Kissingen ) was a German actor, director and theater manager .

Life

The son of the in personal union committed Würzburg and Bad Kissingen director Eduard Reimann was initially an actor in teens.

But after the death of his father, he took over the management of the Bad Kissingen Kurtheater as his successor at the age of 27 . It was not until July 1, 1906 that he took over the management of the Würzburg City Theater , initially for a limited period until May 1, 1910, like his father once did , whose ensemble had been playing in Bad Kissingen during the course season for years. This combination had already been officially agreed when his father was on duty, as this way the Würzburg actors could also be employed during the summer break.

Reimann ended his first term of office as director of Würzburg in 1914, as he went to the First World War as a one-year volunteer . A second time he was brought in as the successor to Eugen Keller , who worked in Würzburg from 1930 to 1936 after his directorship in Heidelberg , and from 1936 until his voluntary resignation in 1941 as director of the Würzburg theater. In between he had been director of the German Theater in Göttingen . From 1932 to 1936 he was director and senior director at the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich . He founded Wolz & Reimann GmbH there with Paul Wolz, who was 23 years his junior , and leased the Munich theater through this company.

Reimann continued the management in Bad Kissingen after only a short interruption (1914) and only gave it up in 1941 at the age of 71 after 43 years of service (!) Together with the Würzburger for reasons of age.
