Saboria is an East Timorese place, Aldeia and Suco in the administrative office of Aileu Vila ( municipality of Aileu ).

The place

The place Saboria is located in the south of the Sucos, at an altitude of 1172  m . Here is the primary school of sucos, the Escola Primaria Saboria .

781 inhabitants live in Saboria (2015), of which 411 are men and 370 women. The population density is 34.9 inhabitants / km². There are 131 households in the Suco. Over 60% of the population name Tetum Prasa as their mother tongue. Almost 40% speak Mambai .

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Saboria had an area of ​​22.14 km². Now there are 22.38 km². The Suco is in the northeast of the Aileu administrative office. To the west is the Suco Aissirimou , to the south and east of the Suco Fahiria . In the north Saboria borders on the administrative office of Laulara with its sucos Cotolau and Talitu and in the northeast on the administrative office of Remexio with its sucos Acumau and Fahisoi . The Rureda River flows through the north and later follows the western border. As soon as the Berecau flows into it from the west, the river is called Berecali . At Saboria the southern border river Huituco flows into the Berecali. The rivers are part of the Northern Lacló system .

In the Suco are the three Aldeias Bermanuleu , Lerulete and Saboria .

history

At the beginning of September 1999, members of the AHI militia ( Aku Hidup dengan Integrasi / Indonesia ) systematically destroyed several sucos in Aileu, including Saboria on September 7, during the Indonesian Operation Donner . Houses were burned down and livestock killed.

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections, João Araújo Lequi was elected Chefe de Suco. Leonito Martins P. Araújo won the elections in 2009 and João Isabel in 2016 .
