Otto Skritek (born December 16, 1909 in Znojmo , Moravia , † September 21, 1998 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Skritek attended elementary, secondary and vocational school and learned the trade of freight forwarder. He was imprisoned in the Dachau concentration camp from 1939 to 1944 and was later assigned to a penal company by the Nazis . In the same year he was taken prisoner by the Soviets, where he remained until 1945.

After the end of the war he became secretary of the private employees' union and a member of the SPÖ. From December 5, 1949 to March 14, 1950 and from March 18, 1953 to June 9, 1965, he was a member of the Federal Council . From 1950 to 1953 and from 1965 to 1975 he was a member of the Austrian National Council . From 1959 to 1965 he was chairman or deputy chairman of the Federal Council.

Skritek was buried in the cemetery of the Simmering fire hall in the same grave as his party colleague Karl Pick, who died in 1938 .
