Otto Teplitzky

Otto Teplitzky (born August 16, 1930 in Prague ; † February 7, 2019 in Cologne ) was a German lawyer, judge at the Federal Court of Justice and, since 1997, honorary professor for competition law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn .

Life

Otto Teplitzky studied law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and the Philipps University in Marburg , where he received his doctorate in law in 1962 with a thesis on the legal figure of the Criminal Contempt of Court . On July 28, 1958, he joined the judicial service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia as a court assessor in the Cologne Higher Regional Court. On January 1, 1961, he was appointed regional judge and assigned to the Aachen regional court . After his promotion to the Higher Regional Court, he worked at the Higher Regional Court of Cologne from October 1, 1968 . After his election as judge at the Federal Court of Justice, he was assigned to the First Civil Senate on June 12, 1980 , to which he was a member until his retirement on August 31, 1995, from December 1, 1990 as deputy chairman.
