Otto Werth

Otto Werth (born September 13, 1851 in Lippstadt ; † July 18, 1920 in Wiesbaden-Biebrich ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Born as the son of an accountant, Werth studied law in Leipzig and Königsberg after attending grammar schools in Thorn and Ratibor . During his studies in 1869 he became a member of the Leipzig fraternity Germania . After his exams in 1874 and 1879, he temporarily took over some judicial posts and in 1880 became a lawyer and notary in Thorn. In 1893 he went into municipal service and in 1895 became an alderman for the city of Essen . Until 1907 he was a member of the Rhenish Provincial Parliament . In 1910 he retired and moved to Gotha and later to Biebrich.
