Otto Zeitler

Otto Zeitler (born October 10, 1944 in Görnitz ) is a German politician of the CSU and was a member of the Bavarian state parliament from 1978 to 2013 .

Life

After completing his apprenticeship as a bricklayer, Zeitler completed a technical college course from 1963 to 1965, during which he became active with the Franco-Borussia Coburg country team and graduated in 1966 as an engineer (FH). He then worked in a structural engineering office and finally in 1971 a building contractor.

Otto Zeitler is married, has four children and is a Protestant.

Political career

After joining the CSU in 1969, he became a local councilor in 1972, a town councilor in Nabburg in 1974 and a district councilor in 1978. In the same year Zeitler also became a member of the Bavarian State Parliament and was a member of the Committee for Local Affairs and Internal Security. From 1990 to 1993 he was State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry for Regional Development and Environmental Issues. From 1986 to 1997 Zeitler was CSU district chairman and was a member of the Broadcasting Council of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation . Zeitler received the Bavarian Order of Merit and the Bavarian Constitutional Medal in gold.

He represented the Schwandorf constituency ( Upper Palatinate constituency ) in the state parliament.
