Otto Zoller

Otto Zoller (born April 14, 1864 in Frauenfeld , † May 2, 1940 in Zurich ) was a Swiss lawyer , journalist and politician .

Life

Otto Zoller, son of a gunsmith of Hungarian origin, completed a law degree in Zurich , Munich and Leipzig . In 1885 he received his doctorate in Bern Dr. iur. In 1886 he worked as a journalist in Murten , 1887 in St. Gallen , 1888–1891 for the Appenzeller Zeitung in Herisau, 1891–1902 for the Basler Nachrichten and 1902–1205 for the Basler Zeitung and Handelsblatt . 1905–1908 he worked as a lawyer in Basel. 1908–1912 he was editor of the Davoser Zeitung . From 1912 he was a lawyer in Zurich and also worked as a correspondent for various newspapers.

In Basel he was also politically active for the Liberal Party : from 1897–1908 he sat on the Grand Council , which he presided over from 1902–1903. After the parliamentary elections in 1902 , he was in the National Council until 1905 .
