Otto von Ruppert
Otto von Ruppert (* 1841 in Waldshut ; † 1923 in Munich ) was a German landscape , vedute and genre painter .
Life
Otto von Ruppert first studied as a pupil of August Schäfer in Vienna before he switched to the Stuttgart Art Academy . In 1867 he became a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus . Between 1868 and 1870 a study visit to the Accademia di belle arti di Venezia in Venice followed and from 1870 to 1872 another study visit to Vienna. From 1872 to 1873 Otto von Ruppert completed his artistic training as a student of Otto Seitz at the Munich Academy . Otto von Ruppert then worked as a landscape, vedute and genre painter, whereby after settling in Munich he preferred to choose alpine motifs. Otto von Ruppert died in Munich in 1923.
