The Ottrotter Schlösser (French Châteaux d'Ottrott ) are a group of castles near Ottrott in the Bas-Rhin department in Alsace .

Lützelburg

The Lützelburg, also known as front-Lützelburg is a pentagonal cladding wall castle with round keep . She was u. a. owned by Andlau and Rathsamhausen .

Old Lützelburg

Round tower foundation

The Alte Lützelburg, also known as Château de l'an Mil (in English: Castle of the Year 1000), is the remains of a simple square castle. It still has the foundation walls of a round tower and a rectangular building. The castle was built around 1076 by order of the Counts of Egisheim and destroyed by the Hohenstaufen at the beginning of the 12th century , before it was finally set on fire by the Counts of Egisheim-Dabo in 1198 .

Rathsamhausen Castle

Rathsamhausen Castle, also known as Hinter-Lützelburg, is a roughly square castle with a round keep and a four- story residential tower that dominates the complex . She was u. a. owned by Rathsamhausen, Hohenstein and Müllenheim .

In the district of Ottrott exist with Castle Altkeller , castle Birkenfels , castle Dreistein , the hail Castle , Castle Kagenfels , castle Koepfel and Castle Windeck seven castles and palaces. However, they are not counted among the Ottrotter castles.
